Services in the Junction
The Junction area, being a unique and up-and-coming location in Toronto, is home to some interesting services; appropriate for the area. Here are a few of the services that we feel are worth a browse when you’re in the area:
Junctions Guitars – Musical Instrument sales and repairs – 2761 Dundas Street West
Opening its doors back in 2012, Junction Guitars focuses on the sales of new and used guitars (as their name states), as well as amps and other accessories. Although their focus is mainly centered on guitars, they also carry stringed folk instruments, like ukuleles, banjos and mandolins. Junction Guitars carry the following brands: Gretsch, Yamaha ,Sigma, Charvel, Hagstrom, G&L, Takamine, Ovation, Fender Squier, Vox, Marshall, Mark Bass, Eden, Washburn, Oscar Schmidt, Digi Tech, Dunlop/MXR and Electro Harmonix among others. They also offer professional repair services, gift vouchers and special offers on certain products.
Espresso Cycles – Beverage and Bicycle Services – 521 Annette Street
Located at the southeast corner of Annette Street and Runnymede Road, the name lends itself to some interesting interpretations and visualizations of what a store like this could possibly look like. With coffee and cycling being two primary focuses of Toronto’s youth culture, mixing the two together made for a very convenient and unique business venture. Owned by Victor Oliveira, the store opened in March of 2013. The store provides bikes, equipment, repair services and of course, espresso, for the Junction area. While dedicated commuter cyclists are his target customers, Oliveira wants the store to be an affordable option compared to the high-end bike shops along Bloor West Village. From training wheels all the way up, Victor has the entire family covered, offering a range of services: tune-ups ($45) or flat tire repairs ($15 and up.) The main brands the business carries are Fuji, Breezer and SE Bikes ($500 – $600). For Oliveira he’s focused on creating a friendly, neighbourhood atmosphere.
